In a captivating homage to luxury timekeeping, Cartier’s latest pop-up exhibition, “Time Unlimited,” graces Miami with a celebration of the Maison’s most innovative watch designs. Opening its doors on December 7 and running until December 22 in Miami’s Design District, the exhibition offers a unique experience for art collectors, watch enthusiasts, and lovers of peak design.
Recognizing Miami’s distinct perception of time, Cartier’s “Time Unlimited” becomes a rendezvous of elegance, showcasing iconic timepieces like Santos de Cartier, Baignoire, Panthère de Cartier, Ballon Bleu, and Tank. The exhibition, inspired by the ever-trending Crash, takes visitors on a journey that transcends mere glamor and wrist glitz, delving into the art and intricacies of watchmaking.
Themes and Celebrations of Craftsmanship
Curated into themes like Watchmaker of Shapes, Pioneering Spirit, Culture of Design, and Technique Serves Beauty, the exhibition promises a comprehensive exploration of Cartier’s legacy. The showcase isn’t merely a display of opulence; it’s a profound study and celebration of the meticulous craftsmanship behind each timepiece.
The exhibition features a film component, “Time Project,” a collaboration with Cartier Global ambassador Jake Gyllenhaal. The Los Angeles-based design studio Perron-Roettinger, responsible for the exhibition scenography and art direction, ensures that the display is not just a visual treat but an immersive experience.
A Visual Symphony of Forms and Materiality
Willo Perron, partner at Perron-Roettinger, emphasizes, “Everything is based on the forms of the watches themselves and the materiality of the watches.” The exhibition, he explains, revolves around celebrating the iconic shapes that Cartier has meticulously crafted over the years.
Walter Bolognino, President & CEO of Cartier North America, expressed delight in marking the North American debut of “Time Unlimited” in the vibrant Miami community. Located at 45 NE 41st, Miami, this limited-time exhibition invites attendees to experience Cartier’s perpetual pursuit of beauty, technical excellence, and rich heritage.
