In an expected move ahead of the Watches & Wonders exhibition, Patek Philippe has officially discontinued several highly sought-after models from its current collection, signaling the brand’s annual adjustments to its lineup. Among the most significant changes are the removal of the Nautilus Moonphase Ref. 5712/1A-001, the Aquanaut Ref. 5167/1A-001, the Grand Complication Ref. 5208R-01, and the Split-Seconds Chronograph Ref. 5370P-011.
The Nautilus model, one of Patek Philippe’s most iconic and coveted designs, has seen major alterations this year. The Nautilus Moonphase Ref. 5712/1A-001, originally introduced in 2006 to mark the 40th anniversary of the Nautilus, has been a fan favorite for years. Despite a brief period of speculation in 2021 about its potential discontinuation, it remained a staple in the collection. However, its removal from the catalog is bound to stir strong emotions among collectors and enthusiasts, particularly given its status as one of the longest-standing versions of the Nautilus.
Alongside this loss, Patek Philippe has also eliminated other models across its key series. The Aquanaut Ref. 5167/1A-001, a steel bracelet version of the popular sports watch, will no longer be available. The Calatrava Travel Time Ref. 5524G, a 42mm white gold timepiece with a striking blue dial, is another notable casualty. The Grand Complication Ref. 5208R-01, crafted in gold, and the Split-Seconds Chronograph Ref. 5370P-011, featuring a blue Grande Feu enamel dial, have also been discontinued.
These changes come as Patek Philippe prepares to unveil new pieces at the upcoming Watches & Wonders event, marking the brand’s continued evolution in the luxury watch market.
