Omega’s New Seamaster Diver 300M: Innovative Combinations and Classic Design

by crystal-cq

OMEGA has recently launched the new Seamaster Diver 300M, transforming the “60th Anniversary of Bond Film Commemorative Edition (Blue Dial)” into a black dial and introducing another style with a steel case and titanium bezel and a brushed stainless steel dial. Less than a month later, Omega has once again released a new addition to the same series. This time, the watch combines titanium and bronze gold materials and features a trendy colored dial, creating a novel and distinct feel.

Omega uses titanium in combination with exclusive bronze gold to create the latest Seamaster Diver 300M diving watch.

Based on the 60th Anniversary of Bond Film Commemorative Edition of the Seamaster Diver 300M watch, it features a retro design, including a curved sapphire crystal glass, a Milanese bracelet, etc. It differs slightly from the regular Seamaster Diver 300M, providing diving watch enthusiasts with more diverse options. However, the previous similar designs were made of stainless steel. This time, OMEGA uses titanium, giving the overall look a resemblance to the “007 Limited Edition” (the one worn by Daniel Craig in “No Time to Die”), which is made of the same material and was released earlier than the 60th Anniversary of Bond Film Commemorative Edition.

The bronze gold bezel with a green oxalic acid anodized aluminum bezel insert, combined with the same deep green dial, and embellished with beige-yellow luminous coating, the retro style of the watch remains strong.
In addition to the case, the Milanese bracelet of the new Seamaster Diver 300M is also made of titanium. Due to the brushed treatment of the case, the original dark gray tone of the titanium becomes more restrained but is also more suitable for showcasing a sporty style, and the appearance is less likely to show the presence of small scratches. Interestingly, Omega has changed the bezel, crown, and helium escape valve of the watch to the exclusive bronze gold material. This material differs from regular bronze as it contains no nickel (less likely to cause allergies) and no iron (thus having better anti-magnetic properties). Also, it does not develop patina due to prolonged wear and exposure to air and moisture, maintaining a pinkish-yellow luster.

On the deep green, light brown, and beige-yellow dial, red details still enhance the rhythm of the series name and the movement of the second hand.

As for the bezel of the watch, although it is made of aluminum like other Seamaster Diver 300M models with Milanese bracelets, Omega has changed it to green for the first time. The dial is also the same deep green as the bezel. The bezel scale and large hour markers on the dial are embellished with light brown and beige-yellow Super-LumiNova ultra-luminous coatings respectively. The various letterings on the dial are in light brown, except for the “Seamaster” at the 12 o’clock position, which is specially highlighted in red. To make the watch design more coherent, OMEGA has added a PVD bronze gold coating to the three hands, creating an elegant and nostalgic style against the green dial.

Under the transparent case back is the 8806 automatic movement, which is certified by the Master Chronometer for high anti-magnetism and has a power reserve of 55 hours.

The back of the watch, like the recently released Seamaster Diver 300M, features a transparent case back, allowing a clear view of the internal 8806 movement. Firstly, one will notice the Arabian Geneva waves on the surface of the automatic rotor, baseplate, and balance bridge, as well as the essential but important chamfering, polishing, and brushing decorations on the edges of the components. At the same time, one can also see the black coaxial escapement system and the silicon hairspring in its structure. This indirectly indicates that the timekeeping accuracy of the movement is superior to the commonly heard Swiss Chronometer Certification but rather achieves the Master Chronometer Certification by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), which excels in various aspects of performance, especially anti-magnetic properties (greater than 15,000 Gauss).

In addition to the Milanese bracelet version, the new Seamaster Diver 300M also has a green rubber strap as an option.

Finally, it should be noted that this Seamaster Diver 300M, like the black dial and brushed stainless steel dial models, is available in both Milanese bracelet and rubber strap versions that match the color of the bezel and dial. The subtle differences in wearing and visual experience, as well as changes in pricing, are all aspects that can be studied before purchasing.
