The anticipation surrounding Rolex’s new flagship store on London’s Bond Street has reached a new high with Watches of Switzerland Group announcing that the grand opening is slated for March 2025. This three-storey showroom at 34 Old Bond Street promises to be a monumental addition to London’s luxury retail landscape.
A Delayed but Highly Anticipated Opening
The project faced initial delays due to Gucci’s extended occupation of the historic building. Further complications arose with issues in the building’s basement, pushing the opening date back. Watches of Switzerland Group had previously stated that the Rolex showroom would open in early 2025, and the new timeline aligns with this revised schedule.
The new Rolex flagship will occupy a substantial 7,200 square feet of retail space across three floors, making it a significant presence on Bond Street. The store is expected to be the sole Rolex point of sale on this prestigious shopping street, following a strategic consolidation of Rolex boutiques in the area.
Rolex’s Strategic Move
In preparation for the flagship’s opening, Bond Street has seen a notable reduction in Rolex retail points. The previous Rolex retailers, such as Wempe and Mappin & Webb, have either closed or shifted brands, with Mappin & Webb being rebranded as a Tudor monobrand store. This consolidation underscores Rolex’s strategic move to centralize its presence and create a singular, high-impact retail environment in London’s most renowned shopping district.
The Rolex Bond Street flagship is poised to be a significant milestone for the brand, reflecting both its commitment to the London market and its dedication to providing an unparalleled retail experience.
