As the Paris 2024 Olympic Games progress, OMEGA, the official timekeeper, is setting its sights on the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Games. On Sunday evening, OMEGA House Paris was transformed into a glamorous showcase for LA28, featuring an array of notable personalities including Allyson Felix, the world-renowned track and field athlete; Casey Wasserman, Chairperson of LA28; and celebrities Alisha Boe, Paul Wesley, Jesse Williams, and Chase Stokes.
Among the distinguished guests were golfer Erik Van Rooyen, an OMEGA ambassador, and Olympic diving legend Greg Louganis.
OMEGA House Paris, the Swiss watchmaker’s exclusive venue for the duration of the Paris 2024 Olympics, is playing a pivotal role as the official timekeeper. The “LA28” evening provided a forward-looking celebration, building anticipation for the next summer Olympics, where OMEGA will mark its 33rd stint as the official timekeeper.
In his remarks, OMEGA President and CEO Raynald Aeschlimann reflected on the significance of the upcoming Games in Los Angeles. “Our journey as the Olympic Games’ official timekeeper began in Los Angeles in 1932. The LA28 Olympics will hold a special place for us as a homecoming of sorts. We’re thrilled to have Casey, Alisha, Paul, Chase, and Jesse, all of whom have a strong connection to Los Angeles, join us in celebrating this milestone.”
Track and field star Allyson Felix expressed her enthusiasm for the 2028 Games. “Los Angeles is steeped in Olympic history, with the 1932 and 1984 Games. The upcoming 2028 Games will be the first of my lifetime. Competing in such an iconic city, in front of passionate US fans, will be a defining moment for all athletes.”
Casey Wasserman, Chairperson of LA28, shared his excitement about the future event. “Experiencing the Olympic atmosphere here in Paris is incredibly inspiring. Los Angeles knows how to deliver a spectacular show, and I can assure you that the 2028 Games will be nothing short of epic.”
Alisha Boe, who joined the OMEGA family in 2022 and is known for her roles in “13 Reasons Why” and “The Buccaneers,” remarked on her Olympic experience. “Witnessing my first Olympic Games through OMEGA’s lens has been extraordinary. Having been to Paris, I’m eagerly anticipating what Los Angeles will offer. It’s my hometown, and I’m confident it will be an unforgettable event.”
Paul Wesley, recognized for his roles in “The Vampire Diaries” and “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” commented on the vibrant energy of Paris. “The spirit of the Games is truly unifying, and being part of it with OMEGA is an honor. The thought of experiencing this same energy in Los Angeles is thrilling.”
Chase Stokes, the rising star of “Outer Banks,” expressed his admiration for OMEGA’s role. “The sports action here has been incredible, and OMEGA’s expertise is impressive. I’m really looking forward to the Los Angeles Games in four years.”
Jesse Williams, famed for his role in “Grey’s Anatomy” and his recent Broadway performance, echoed excitement for the 2028 Games. “If the Los Angeles Olympics are anything like Paris, we’re in for an incredible event. Located at The Hôtel de Poulpry, Maison des Polytechniciens, near the Musée d’Orsay, OMEGA House Paris offers a sophisticated retreat for guests.
