In a grand celebration marking the end of the exhilarating aquatic competitions at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, OMEGA House hosted a special event to honor the athletes who competed in swimming and diving. The event, held on Monday, brought together swimming legend Michael Phelps and quadruple medalist and OMEGA ambassador Léon Marchand, along with other notable OMEGA ambassadors, including four gold medalists from these Games: swimmers Kaylee McKeown and Thomas Ceccon, and sailors Diego Botin and Florian Trittel.
OMEGA House, located at The Hôtel de Poulpry, Maison des Polytechniciens, just steps from the Musée d’Orsay, serves as the Swiss brand’s exclusive home during the Olympic Games Paris 2024, where OMEGA is the Official Timekeeper. The highlight of the calendar, Seamaster Night, celebrated not only the athletes’ achievements but also OMEGA’s storied history in international competitive swimming and diving. The brand has been at the forefront of developing key technologies such as Touchpads and underwater lap counters, which enable precise measurement in the sport.
Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, addressed the guests, expressing the brand’s deep connection with swimming and diving beyond the Olympic Games. “OMEGA’s passion for these sports extends to the most significant championships and competitions. We’ve built close relationships with our swimming ambassadors, and tonight is the perfect way to congratulate them and celebrate Paris 2024 in style,” he remarked.
Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian in history with 28 medals, shared his excitement about being part of the event. “Watching these athletes achieve their goals at Paris 2024 has been incredible. Knowing the dedication that goes into it daily, being here has been a dream come true. It’s a joy to witness hard work paying off,” Phelps said.
Léon Marchand, who won four gold medals and one bronze at Paris 2024, setting four Olympic records, reflected on his memorable experience. “This week has been full of unforgettable moments. It felt like Christmas, receiving gifts every day. I made sure to take it all in because I know I’ll cherish these memories forever,” he shared.
OMEGA House Paris will continue to host members and VIP events until Saturday, August 10th, offering a blend of relaxation during the day and exclusive themed evenings. This venue remains a celebration of OMEGA’s pivotal role as the Official Timekeeper of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, alongside its family of celebrity friends.
