Jakarta Metropolitan Police have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of a high-profile luxury watch store robbery in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 area, Teluk Naga, Tangerang, Banten. The suspect, identified as HK, was successfully apprehended at a hotel in Cipanas, Puncak (West Java).
Chief of Public Relations Ade Ary Syam Indradi confirmed the arrest, noting that HK was found in possession of 18 stolen watches at the time of his capture. The total value of the stolen items, which included prestigious brands such as Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Patek Philippe, is estimated to be nearly Rp 13 billion ($798,000). Among the recovered watches were 10 Rolex timepieces, 6 Audemars Piguet watches, and 2 Patek Philippe pieces.
The robbery, which shocked the local community, took place at a luxury watch store in the PIK 2 area on Saturday, June 8. Surveillance footage from the scene captured the suspect, dressed in a white hat, shirt, and shorts, wielding a sharp weapon as he confronted store employees. The footage shows three employees being forced into a room by the armed suspect, who proceeded to threaten them before making off with a number of valuable watches.
The successful apprehension of HK represents a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat crime and ensure the safety and security of the public.
