Patek Philippe Unveils Exciting New Releases at WWG25

by Barbara Wilson

At the ongoing WWG25 in Geneva, Patek Philippe has unveiled 15 new references, showingcasing a stunning collection of high-complication timepieces. After a photography session yesterday, we are now bringing you live impressions of these remarkable releases. Here’s a quick rundown of the standout models.

Key Complications and New Models

Patek Philippe’s latest collection includes three major complication launches that highlight the brand’s expertise and innovation:

Complicated Desk Clock

This new desk clock boasts a 31-day power reserve, maintaining accuracy within ±1 second per day. It features a weekly calendar, a perpetual calendar, and a constant torque remontoir system, powered by three barrels.

Ref. 5308G – Quadruple Complication

First released as a limited edition in 2023, the Ref. 5308G now joins the regular collection with a fresh dial design. It’s a timepiece packed with four major complications: a split-seconds chronograph, a perpetual calendar, a minute repeater, and a horizontal clutch with a patented anti-kickback system. The movement used is the Cal. R CHR 27 PS QI.

Ref. 5328G – 8-Day Power Reserve with Day-Date

This model comes with an impressive 8-day power reserve and features both a day and date display. The day is shown on a sub-dial at 6 o’clock, while the day of the week appears in an aperture on the dial. This timepiece is powered by a new movement, the Cal. 262, which is a modified version of the rectangular Cal. 226 used in the Ref. 5200.

Ref. 5328G – A Closer Look

The Ref. 5328G is designed with a textured dial and a notable 8-day power reserve. The day display sits on a sub-dial at 6 o’clock, and the day of the week is shown in an aperture at 12 o’clock. The case features a stunning Clou de Paris guilloché on its side. This model is powered by the new Cal. 262, offering both durability and precision.

The Cubitus Gets a Mid-Sized Update

The Cubitus model has been redesigned with a smaller 40mm square case, which Patek Philippe now refers to as “mid-sized.” Originally launched with a 45mm case, this updated version offers a more wearable and versatile size. The two new models are available in both rose gold and white gold.

Despite the smaller case, the movement remains the same as the original 45mm version, utilizing the Cal. 26-330 SC. This movement offers a sweep second hand, a date display at 3 o’clock, and hacking seconds.

Ref. 5308G – An In-Depth Look at Its Four Complications

The Ref. 5308G continues to be one of the most technically impressive watches in the collection. It features four major complications: a split-seconds chronograph, a perpetual calendar, a minute repeater, and a horizontal clutch with a patented anti-kickback system. This timepiece also boasts remarkable craftsmanship, as seen in the personal piece of Philippe Barat, which was executed in steel. The production version, however, comes in a luxurious white gold case.

The Minute Repeater – Sound in Action

As part of the Ref. 5308G, the minute repeater is one of the most exciting features. It creates a beautiful sound, and we have captured a recording of this minute repeater in action, highlighting its impressive tone and accuracy.

Patek Philippe’s latest releases at WWG25 demonstrate the brand’s commitment to pushing boundaries in horology. From the impressive complications of the Ref. 5308G to the updated, more wearable Cubitus model, these new timepieces offer something for both seasoned collectors and newcomers alike. Stay tuned for more updates from the event as we continue to share our impressions live from Geneva.
