A bi-colour Patek Philippe Cubitus has earned a significant profit at auction, with California-based online marketplace Bezel selling the watch for $112,500—almost double its retail price of $61,275. This sale marks a $50,000 profit for the seller, highlighting the soaring demand for Patek Philippe’s newly released Cubitus collection.
Although the square-shaped Cubitus models were launched less than a month ago, they’ve already attracted substantial attention. Authorized dealers are beginning to receive allocations, and eager customers are snapping them up, with speculators quickly taking advantage of the supply-demand imbalance. Within hours of the release, listings for these watches flooded Chrono24, though many of these posts are simply “selling pictures,” a term in the trade for speculative promotions without actual timepieces.
In contrast, the Bezel auction featured an authentic, unworn bi-colour steel and gold Cubitus, complete with its box and papers. The hammer price of $112,500, while impressive, is slightly below the average listing of $130,000 seen on Chrono24 for the bi-colour model. Patek Philippe’s all-steel Cubitus, with its olive green dial, is also being advertised at a similar price point.
Bezel, known for authenticating goods in transit between consigners and buyers, has proven to be a major player in this early market for the Cubitus, capitalizing on the heightened demand for these luxury watches.
