Apple’s Upcoming Event: iPhone 16 Series, Watch Series 10, and AirPods Expected on September 10

by Barbara Wilson

Apple is poised to unveil its latest products, including the much-anticipated iPhone 16 series, during a special event rumored to take place on September 10. Although the tech giant has yet to confirm the date officially, reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggest that the event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, California. As per tradition, the keynote will likely be livestreamed on Apple’s official website and YouTube, making it accessible to a global audience.

iPhone 16 Series: What’s New?

The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to feature the new A18 series chip, which will be available in different configurations across the standard and Pro models. The Pro versions are likely to come with enhanced GPU cores for superior graphic performance.

A new Capture Button is also rumored to be part of the iPhone 16 series, enabling users to perform camera functions such as focusing and zooming more easily. While major changes to the camera hardware aren’t anticipated, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to incorporate the same periscopic telephoto lens found in the Pro Max model, offering 5x zoom capability. Standard models may see a change in camera module alignment, with sensors arranged vertically instead of the previous diagonal layout.

Another noteworthy update is the Action Button on the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models, which will replace the traditional Mute Switch. This feature was first introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro models last year.

In terms of aesthetics, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are rumored to be available in a new Titanium Bronze color, replacing the current Titanium Blue option.

Apple Watch Series 10: Bigger and Better

The Apple Watch Series 10 is likely to undergo a size increase, with the smaller model growing from 41mm to 45mm and the larger model from 45mm to 49mm. This next-generation smartwatch is also expected to have a slimmer case, enhancing its sleek design.

The larger size will bring with it bigger displays, and Apple is expected to incorporate Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) technology in the OLED display, allowing for dynamic refresh rate adjustments. The Series 10 is also likely to feature a new S10 chip with a dedicated Neural Engine for AI processing, boosting performance and efficiency.

Third-Generation AirPods: Enhanced Features

Apple’s third-generation AirPods are expected to include two models: a standard version and a new entry-level variant. While both versions are anticipated to feature Active Noise Cancelling (ANC), the entry-level model may lack this feature to maintain a lower price point.

In line with Apple’s shift away from the Lightning port, the new AirPods are expected to adopt USB-C charging, a move that aligns with the company’s broader strategy of unifying its device ecosystem under this standard.

As the tech world eagerly awaits September 10, Apple’s event is shaping up to be a significant moment, with the potential to introduce groundbreaking advancements across its product lineup.
