As Apple prepares for its upcoming September event, anticipation is building around the release of the Apple Watch Series 10, set to debut alongside the iPhone 16 series. The latest reports unveil promising enhancements for the new smartwatch, including significant upgrades in display size, processing power, and potentially new health sensors. However, one notable absence from these updates appears to be advanced artificial intelligence features.
According to 9To5Mac, the Apple Watch Series 10 will offer larger displays across both its smaller and larger models. The smaller variant, currently sized at 44mm, is expected to grow to 45mm. Meanwhile, the larger model will increase from 45mm to 49mm, aligning with the dimensions of the Apple Watch Ultra.
In addition to the size increase, the Series 10 is anticipated to sport a more streamlined design, featuring a slimmer case that should counterbalance the expanded display sizes, avoiding additional bulk.
The new watch will reportedly incorporate low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology in its OLED display. This advancement will allow the screen to dynamically adjust its refresh rate based on usage, which is designed to enhance battery life.
Performance improvements are also on the horizon, with the introduction of a new chip named the S10. This processor is expected to come with an upgraded Neural Engine, which promises enhanced processing capabilities. Despite this, Apple has confirmed that the Series 10 will not debut with new artificial intelligence features. Instead, the advanced processor is intended to pave the way for future AI functionalities.
Furthermore, the Series 10 is projected to include a new health sensor capable of detecting hypertension and sleep apnea. However, there has been some uncertainty regarding the inclusion of these features in the final product, as recent speculation casts doubt on their availability.
As of now, Apple has yet to announce an official release date for the Apple Watch Series 10 and the iPhone 16 series. The current Apple Watch Series 9 is priced at Rs 41,900 for the GPS model and Rs 51,900 for the GPS + Cellular version.
