August 22, 2024, Trumbull, CT — FallCall Solutions, a trailblazer in app-based medical alert technology, has announced the expansion of its ElderCheck Now app to five additional countries. The innovative tool, designed for Apple Watch, iPhone, and Android devices, will now be available in Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. This expansion aims to tackle the pressing issue of social isolation among older adults by providing a streamlined method for caregivers to perform regular wellness check-ins.
Dr. Shea Gregg, President and Founder of FallCall Solutions, highlighted the urgent need for such a solution. “Loneliness is a significant concern, linked to increased risks of depression, dementia, and premature death,” Gregg stated. “Caregivers, often overwhelmed by their responsibilities, may struggle to maintain consistent communication with their loved ones. ElderCheck Now simplifies this process, ensuring that regular check-ins are not overlooked.”
ElderCheck Now leverages the advanced health monitoring features of Apple Watch and iPhone to offer a secure and efficient communication channel between caregivers and older adults. The app allows caregivers to schedule electronic check-ins that prompt the recipient with a simple “Are you OK?” message. The response, whether “I’m OK” or “Call Me,” is relayed to the caregiver along with the recipient’s current heart rate and location. If the “Call Me” option is selected, a phone call is instantly initiated from the caregiver’s device.
Gregg emphasized the app’s transformative impact based on its success in the United States over the past eight years. “ElderCheck has proven to be a crucial tool for maintaining connections and fostering communication,” he said. “We are excited to bring this valuable resource to a global audience and look forward to further international expansions.”
ElderCheck Now will be available for download at $2.99 USD in the App Store for users in the new countries. The update will also introduce enhanced features for existing users in the United States. Additional international launches are anticipated.
