Omega Unveils Special Seamaster Diver 300m for 37th America’s Cup

by Barbara Wilson

Omega has reaffirmed its position as the Official Timekeeper for the America’s Cup, the esteemed sailing race and the oldest international sports trophy. Since its partnership began with Emirates Team New Zealand and renowned sailor Sir Peter Blake in 1995, Omega has consistently delivered regatta-themed timepieces. This tradition continues with the introduction of a special edition Seamaster Diver 300m designed for the 37th America’s Cup.

The prestigious event, scheduled from August 22 to October 27, 2024, in Barcelona, will see the defending champions, Emirates Team New Zealand, vying against a yet-to-be-announced competitor following the qualification races. In celebration, Omega has launched an exclusive version of its iconic Seamaster Diver 300m.

Design and Features

The new Seamaster Diver 300m America’s Cup Edition maintains the classic 42mm case with twisted lugs, a conical crown at 3 o’clock, and a Helium Escape Valve at 10 o’clock. The most notable enhancement is the blue ceramic bezel, which now includes a regatta scale featuring two 5-minute pre-start sections and a START section marked by a regatta-inspired flag. This practical addition enhances its functionality during races while preserving its diver watch capabilities.

The watch’s aesthetic features a blue bezel paired with a white ceramic dial, which is laser-engraved with a wave pattern. The luminescent markers are framed in blue, and the date window at 6 o’clock has been omitted for a cleaner look. The hands have been updated with a blue-red gradient minute hand and a seconds hand adorned with an America’s Cup trophy counterweight. The watch’s case back showcases the America’s Cup logo alongside the letter “B” for Barcelona.
